Wipe Out

A Grey Seal bull (Halichoerus grypus) looks relaxed on the shoreline at Horsey, Norfolk. The female, in the background, has almost been totally consumed in the surf as the wave breaks. In a split second the same will happen to the bull and the scene will be a total wipe out of frothing foam. The contrast between calmness of the seal and crashing wave emphasises how comfortable seals are in the sea compared to their awkwardness on land.
