Little Egret at Thornham Staithes

A Little Egret (Egretta garzetta) fluffs up its pristine white feathers as it stands in the muddy waters of Thornham Harbour, Norfolk, England. I composed the image to include the reflection of three posts which form part of the staithe (landing stage) The reflections have the effect of encouraging the viewer to explore the background but quickly lead the eye back to the main subject and adds interest to the image.
