Young Hippo

A young Hippopotamus (Hippopotamus amphibius) stares up from the Mara River. This was the only time I had taken photographs out of the seurity of the land cruiser and had to remain extremely vigilant at all times. Later I saw a fiully grown adult and got a better understanding of why the Hippo is responsible for more deaths than any other animal in Africa.
