Whiskers of Light

A Grey Seal pup (Halichoerus grypus) looks for a place to hunker down amongst the Marram Grass highlights and deep sandy shadows of the dunes at Winterton, Norfolk. As it ascends the dunes it pauses from its struggle to look hopefully upwards it’s fur and whiskers illuminated with bright winter sunlight. I stopped down to correctly expose the highlights and converted to black and white to emphasis the rim-lit effect.
