On the Edge of Darkness

A Common Lizard (Zootoca vivipara) warming its cold blooded body on a rusty piece of corrogated iron at Waxham Dunes, Norfolk, England. Beneath, Adders can be found taking advantage of the conducted heat from the iron and gathering energy to hunt their prey. The Common Lizard sleeps seemingly unaware of the threat that lurks in the darkness.
