Little Egret Landing

A Little Egret (Egretta garzetta) comes in to land before sunrise at Snipes Marsh, Cley, Norfolk. I’d noticed the Egret repeatedly flying from one side of the marsh to the other, to find the best fishing spots, but the light was to low to capture any sharp high quality images. I decided to use the low light conditions to my advantage and capture some shots using a technique called motion blur. I set the camera to shutter priority and selected a slow shutter speed. As the Egret flew passed I panned the camera and took a series of shots to blur motion and convey a sense of movement.
