Little Egret Fishing

A Little Egret (Egretta garzetta) fishing in a shallow scrape at Strumpshaw Fen. It moves with great stealth and keeps its eye focussed on any movement below the water. It has paused tp agitate the muddy bottom of the scrape with its feet. This releases small fish and invertebrates into the water, making them easier to catch. and has caused the ripples which have appeared on the surface.
