Golden Barn Owl

I captured this image of a female Barn Owl as it flew past me back lit by the sun. With her wings down it really shows off the beautiful Golden Hues of her wing feathers. By contrast the male Barn Owl is much more ghostly in appearance than the female with a white chest and legs and lighter coloured feathers on its back and wings. Often the plumage on male birds is more attractive than their female counterparts but in this case the opposite is true.
