Dancing Cheek to Cheek

A pair of Mute Swans (Cygnus olor) post mating, rise from the water as one, turning slowly as if they are dancing cheek to cheek. Despite the frantic paddling below the water what’s seen above is one of the most touching, graceful and elegant rituals in British wildlife.
